We want to stay away from bribery, but what should we do?

Cambodia still meets the problems in Education and it's the chronic disease of the country. It's the bribery. I also experienced the problem of involving in bribery when I was young. No students want to involve in bribery; however, you will be weird if you do not involve in it. Many problems will happen to your study if you try to be odd one out. [See an article below involved with this problem.]

When Sok Sopheap could not pay his daily bribe, his secondary school teacher refused to let him attend class. [ more see : Children miss out on school because of corruption]

Peace inside a little boy's heart

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Once a little boy was born he wanted to detain peace inside his heart. He once told the world that he wanted to live in peace. However, the nature of human being is mixed of both peace and war. Then, the boy always prays for all people in the world love peace like they love themselves and their beloved ones.

This little boy always thinks of ways that he can participate in the society to build peace and morality. He once thought that he is a person of the society; so if he himself retains peace and moral, at least he can make a small piece of peace and moral in his society.

I would like to say please little boy, keep on retaining peace and moral in your heart! One day, you will find peace and moral all around the world.

Shaking hands with Cambodians.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Cambodian culture is not the same to the western culture in term of shaking hands. If you wish to greet Cambodians, you have to know who they are. This means you have to know that it is not always good to shake hands with Cambodians.

Let's talk about shaking hands with a lady. In Cambodia you suppose not to shake hands with ladies. The reason is in Khmer Culture we don't shake hands. Acctually, we greet each other by SAMBAH= put your hands together. So, be aware that you are not suppose to shake hands with ladies in Cambodia, I mean you can't shake hands with Cambodian women.

For men, you can shake hands with them. We adapted French culture for the men, so most of Cambodian men do shake hands when they meet each other to show greeting. However, if you are younger than the men you meet you would better SAMBAH. Because, we give respect to elders.

Through this brief explanation about Cambodian Culture in shaking hands, I hope you guys who never know about this, gain some ideas in what you should do when you greet Cambodians. Cambodian Culture is full of respect. If you know well about it, you will appreciate its value.

My first word to the world!

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

When I look back to the date that I was born, I realize that my first word to the world is what I don't know too.

Wow! I don't know about what I did when I was one year old. It makes me wonder why we don't know anything when we were first born. Mmmmm.... I guess it will be doubtful for me!

There are many more mysterious things that I never know about. I don't know about you. How many mysterious things existed in your thought? It's difficult to answer. Why do unanswered questions exist?

Talking about unanswered questions makes me wonder about variety of answers to a single question. If a boy asks you, "How are you?" You would probably answer to him with different answers. Don't you think so? Oooop! Sounds like being crazy, however, it's the reality!
